Lazio is one of the 20 Italian regions. Located in central Italy, with Rome as the capital, wine has been produced here since ancient times.
The wine history of this region tells of successes and centuries of great enological productions. Then the decline of the last decenn until the 90s, which can be remembered as the “renaissance” of Lazio viticulture. The present is developing under the banner of a great desire for revenge and the future is bright.
The “quantity in spite of quality” paradigm is undergoing a turnaround and the consequences are visible. Not only is the number of young winegrowers choosing to work in the Lazio region increasing, a natural consequence is also the increase in quality products that from year to year conquer their deserved place in the most important wine guides.
